Information for Disabled People

Access by public transportation:

To the Botanic Garden = Entrance Unter den Eichen 5-10, 12203 Berlin:
Bus M48 (towards South) immediately in front of the gate, M48 (towards North) across the street. Street crossing for pedestrians regulated by traffic lights.

To the Botanic Garden =  Entrance Königin-Luise-Straße 6-8, 14195 Berlin: 
Bus X83 (towards Steglitz) in front of the museum, bus X83 (towards Dahlem) and bus 101 across the street. Street crossing for pedestrians regulated by traffic lights.

To the Botanical Museum =  Entrance Königin-Luise-Straße 6-8, 14195 Berlin: 
Bus X83 (towards Steglitz) in front of the museum, bus X83 (towards Dahlem) and bus 101 across the street. Street crossing for pedestrians regulated by traffic lights.

 

Access by individual transport (by car):

To the Botanic Garden = Entrance Unter den Eichen 5-10, 12203 Berlin:
Stop for unloading allowed in front of the gate Unter den Eichen. There are no disabled parking spots.

To the Botanic Garden =  Entrance Königin-Luise-Straße 6-8, 14195 Berlin: 
Stop for unloading allowed in front of the museum (bus stop). There are no disabled parking spots.

To the Botanical Museum =  Entrance Königin-Luise-Straße 6-8, 14195 Berlin: 
Stop for unloading allowed in front of the museum (bus stop). There are no disabled parking spots.

 
 

In the garden: 

  • On the grounds of the garden there are 2 accessible WCs: at the Duft- u. Tastgarten (Fragrance and Touch Garden) as well as in the Greenhouse (a third is in the Neue Glashaus for special events) - key at cash desk.
  • The Fragrance and Touch Garden is built on elevated beds, within reach of persons using wheelchairs. House P (Plants from the Mediterranean region and the Canary Islands, tree ferns) is accessible for wheelchair users.
  • The Mediterranean House accessible for wheelchair users.
  • The greenhouse complex has 2 levels (a elevator is available to reach both levels). All greenhouses are accessible for wheelchair users with no exceptions.

The museum is accessible (cashier will bring you to the elevator); WC on the ground floor, main hall (key at cash desk).

Exhibitions: Note: No exhibitions until the end of 2022. The building is accessible Monday-Friday only (except holidays)

 

A few wheelchairs are available at the gates for free. For reservation call the gate of your arrival: Phone ++49 30 838-50272 (for Entrance Unter den Eichen) or ++49 30 838-50108 (for Entrance Königin-Luise-Straße) .

In general not all of our garden paths are accessible (garden heritage, mountains). In addition, some ways are not accessible for wheelchair users during constructions. There is no accessible transfer between the museum and the garden during constructions. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note that due to ongoing construction works the pathway system is under construction. Some paths are not accessible and you have to count with little detours. For more information click here >>> We kindly ask for your understanding.
