modellSHOW

22.05.15 bis 28.02.16

Open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (museum)  and 9 p.m. to garden closure (garden)

For centuries, exquisite plant models made from wax, terracotta, plaster, papier mâché or even glass have fascinated collectors and amateurs alike. Botanical models, analogue as well as virtual, still play an important role as teaching aids. They are unique documents of science history and at the same time startling pieces of craftsmanship. How models are created, how we perceive them and how they have influenced science and teaching is shown in this exhibition spanning two floors, with numerous interactive displays.
